Tems Eyes Top Grammy Honors With Love Is a Kingdom Submission Nigerian Grammy-winning star Tems has officially submitted her acclaimed EP, Love Is a Kingdom, for consideration across several major categories at the 2027 Grammy Awards. The project has been entered for Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Album Cover, and Best Engineered Album, reflecting the singer-songwriter’s ambition to compete across both general and genre-specific fields. Beyond the project itself, Tems has also submitted individual records for category consideration. “What You Need” is targeting the R&B categories, while “Raindance,” featuring Dave, has been entered for Best African Music Performance. Meanwhile, “Bunce Road Blues,” featuring J. Cole and Future, has been submitted for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

The submissions have generated widespread conversation among fans, with many praising Tems’ strategy—particularly her entries in the African music categories. Others, however, have questioned the eligibility of “Raindance” for Best African Music Performance due to Dave’s British background, although the category allows collaborations involving African artists. The submissions mark another important chapter in Tems’ Grammy journey. She previously won Best African Music Performance with “Love Me JeJe” at the 2025 Grammy Awards and has continued to establish herself as one of Africa’s leading global stars. It’s important to note that these are Grammy submissions, not nominations. The official nominations are expected to be announced in mid-November, following the Recording Academy’s voting process, while the 67th Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place in February 2027.
