BNXN Opens Up on Ending Friendships After 'Captain' Release
By OduThaCreator

Nigerian artist BNXN, also known as Daniel Benson, has shared his experience of cutting ties with close friends. He revealed this during an appearance on The Nadeska Show on Apple Music. He explained that his decision stemmed from discoveries about these individuals that left him feeling he had no other option.

BNXN’s distancing from friends occurred in the aftermath of his album Captain, released in July 2025, which included collaborations with artists like Seyi Vibez and Victony. While not naming the friends in question or detailing his revelations, BNXN emphasized that the decision was rooted in self-preservation, advising others to trust their instincts about their close relationships. Alongside personal challenges, BNXN faced professional struggles. He noted that, despite being ranked among Nigeria’s top eight most-streamed artists, he lacked a management team and support system at that time. He acknowledged the difficulty of maintaining confidence during this period, stating that professional achievements couldn’t alleviate the personal turmoil he was experiencing. BNXN’s journey through these challenges ultimately inspired his project Still In Charge.
